La Chouette de Minerve ouvre la saison 2023 en mettant un pied dans l’abstraction avec le vernissage des œuvres de Nicolas MIALET vendredi 7 avril à partir de 18h30 en présence de l’artiste.
The Owl of Minerve opens the 2023 season by stepping into the abstraction world with the vernissage of the Nicolas MIALET exhibition on Friday the 7th of april from 6:30pm in presence of the artist.
Artiste quercynois d’une quarantaine d’années, c’est sur ses terres natales que Nicolas Mialet demeure et crée depuis seize ans une œuvre contemporaine abstraite confrontant tradition et postmodernisme. Ancien arboriste, il a suivi le chemin menant à la sculpture depuis l’arbre vivant jusqu’à l’arbre matière. Ses sculptures allient ou opposent le bois de la nature au métal d’une humanité qui s’impose chaque jour davantage à son détriment.
« Déposer un message, partager un regard ». Chercher des formes, des lignes, jouer sur les textures, stimuler les sens, dévier le bois, puis oublier la matière dans une expression naïve et spontanée, tel est le credo de Nicolas Mialet.

Nicolas Mialet has created an abstract contemporary work that confronts tradition and postmodernism for now sixteen years. Former arborist, he followed the path leading to the sculpture from the living tree to the tree matter. His sculptures combine or oppose the wood of nature with the metal of a mankind leading it to suffocation.
“Drop a message, share a look”. The credo of Nicolas Mialet is to seek out forms, lines, play on textures, stimulate the senses, deflect wood, and then forget about matter in a naive and spontaneous expression.
