ABEL est une artiste du Nord de la France dont les élégantes sculptures traduisent avant tout l’esthétique des émotions. Le corps de la femme et de l’homme, sa principale source d’inspiration, sont en perpétuel mouvement et s’illustrent dans ce qu’ils ont de plus touchant : un supplément d’âme qui transparait dans ses moindres faits et gestes.
Le travail de la terre est tantôt brut tantôt stylisé, et l’audace de formes envolées est librement abordée grâce à une matière à base de résines, mise au point par l’artiste. Qu’il s’agisse d’une terre brute ou d’une pièce plus sophistiquée en fonte d’aluminium longuement polie, le contact physique avec la pièce en création est primordial pour Abel.
ABEL is an artist from the North of France whose elegant sculptures reflect above all the aesthetics of emotions. Its main source of inspiration, man and woman’s bodies, are in perpetual motion and express a touching supplement of soul.
The work of the terracotta is either rough or stylized, and the audacity of soaring forms freely approached thanks to a resin-based material developed by the artist. But whether for rough clay or more sophisticated cast aluminium works polished for a long, long time, physical contact with the work in creation is essential for Abel.
