Patrick Moya est un artiste plasticien français né en 1955 à Troyes vivant et travaillant à Nice et pratiquant la peinture, la sculpture, le dessin, la céramique, les performances, le live painting, les installations, la vidéo, ou l’art numérique. Influencé par Marshall MacLuhan, il s'interroge avec lui sur les changements apportés dans l'art par les nouveaux médias. Après une première période assimilant l’œuvre à sa signature (1981), il invente le petit « moya », un alter ego qui lui permet de « vivre dans son œuvre » (1997) avant d’inventer son « Moya Land », composé d’un bestiaire presque humain, qui tend à prouver que « l’artiste est une civilisation à lui tout seul », puis de le transposer dans le métavers à partir de 2007.

Patrick Moya is a French artist born in 1955 in Troyes living and working in Nice and practicing painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramics, performances, live painting, installations, video, or digital art. Influenced by Marshall MacLuhan, he questions the changes introduced in art by new media. After a first period assimilating the work to his signature (1981), he invented the small «moya», an alter ego allowing him to «live in his work» (1997) before inventing his «Moya Land» composed of an almost human bestiary intending to prove that «the artist is a civilization by himself», before transposing it into the metaverse from 2007.
