Originaire de Bretagne, François-Régis LEMONNIER est un artiste plasticien qui (dé-)peint l’aventure humaine. Installé sur Gap, il puise son inspiration dans son environnement montagneux, dans sa Bretagne natale et dans ses voyages. Son travail a toujours été centré sur l’être humain et sa place dans notre monde. Fils de quincaillier, il s’amusait déjà tout jeune avec de vieux matériaux qu’il travaillait pour leur donner une nouvelle vie. Au fil du temps, il s'intéressa à toutes sortes de matières : sable, zinc, plomb, inox, aluminium, ferrailles, ardoise, cailloux ... qu’il incorpora à ses œuvres.

Son axe de travail s’articule autour de la connivence entre les hommes et les arbres et donne naissance à des œuvres atypiques avec une marque de fabrique qui lui est propre : le recyclage. Il récupère de vieux matériaux et les associe à la peinture. Il développe actuellement de nouveaux travaux autour de l'acier rouillé ou du béton, donnant ainsi naissance à des sculptures murales.

François-Régis Lemonnier participe à plusieurs salons d’art contemporain et est maintenant artiste permanent dans de nombreuses galeries d’art. En 2010, il entre dans la collection privée de la François Pinault Foundation. 2019 marqua une reconnaissance au-delà des frontières grâce à la collaboration avec des galeries à l’étranger comme Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Pékin, Philadelphie, Beyrouth, New York…

Originally from Brittany, François-Régis LEMONNIER is a visual artist depicting human adventure. Settled in Gap, in the middle of the French Alps, he draws his inspiration from his mountainous environment, from his native Brittany and from his travels. His work has always been centred on the human being and his place in our world. Son of a hardware merchant, he already enjoyed himself very young with old materials that he worked to give them a new life. Over time, he became interested in all kinds of materials: sand, zinc, lead, stainless steel, aluminium, scrap, slate, pebbles... which he incorporated into his works.

His line of work revolves around the connivance between men and trees and gives rise to atypical works with a trademark that is unique to him: recycling. He recovers old materials and associates them with paint. He is currently developing new works around rusted steel or concrete, thus giving birth to wall sculptures.

François-Régis Lemonnier participates in several contemporary art fairs and is now a permanent artist in many art galleries. In 2010, it enters the private collection of the François Pinault Foundation. 2019 marked his recognition beyond borders through collaboration with galleries abroad such as Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Beijing, Philadelphia, Beirut, New York...
